the point in time or space at which something starts
Today is the day! It’s finally the day that I psych myself out and just go for it! It’s the first day of doing something different. It’s the first BIG step in a process of many small steps that have led to this point. I thoughtfully sip my cocoa. It’s a cold winter day.
I tell myself, “I’m ready for something different. Honestly, I have been for a while. I HAVE to make a change.” Doubt and ideas of absolute perfection begin to creep in. I shake my head in rebellion. Isn’t it funny that your biggest ally and enemy can be your own mind? “NO!” I tell myself. “NOW is the time, and yes I may fail. I might fail miserably. At least if I fail, I will have tried.” Then I click on over to Pinterest and give myself a mini pep rally of sorts.
First things First!
SEARCH: Failure quotes
RESULTS: “Failure is nothing more than a chance to revise your strategy.”
“Continuous improvement is better than the delayed perfection.”
” Be stubborn about your goals but flexible about your methods.”
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”
“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
“If it doesn’t work, Just try again.”
“If I start tomorrow, I’ll never start.”
So here I am writing my first post. Yes, it’s not long. The difference is that today, I chose to just get started. Today, failure was not an option.
Note to self: Remember this first post.
